Harris & Bruno International is excited to celebrate at Dscoop Vienna June 13-15 the worldwide success stories of H&B coaters complimenting HP Digital Presses at major customer sites.
For sheet-fed printing, the H&B ExcelCoat series of offline/inline coaters for UV and AQ compliment HP Indigo Digital Presses at installations across the world. The ExcelCoat series includes the fully automated ZR and the ZRS Spot Coater with optical registration, both with high-pile feeder/stacker.
For web printing, H&B Web Coaters specializing in priming and/or coating compliment HP PageWide Web Presses at worldwide customer locations.
“Along with many HP partnerships, we’re also celebrating our company’s 70th anniversary and 20 years serving the European community,” said H&B President Nick Bruno. “As part of our 20th year serving the European community, we are strengthening our team in Europe by adding the position of Technical Director EMEA, which has been filled by Joe Rodriguez.”
Joe spent several years working for H&B in the U.S. and has just relocated himself and his family to Germany. Other administration, service, and support functions have been added at Harris & Bruno Europe (HBE), and some have already been filled. All of these strategic changes are being made to better support H&B growth in Europe.

Harris & Bruno International announces that all ExcelCoat offline/inline coaters for UV & AQ now come standard with remote support.
ExcelCoat remote support includes a web cam for troubleshooting coating application or mechanical issues, and Wi-Fi access for remote electrical diagnostics. This feature has been standard on every ExcelCoat installed since 2017. Retrofits are available for prior installs.
H&B remote support became standard due to the increase of large, integrated printers utilizing ExcelCoats across multiple shifts.
“It’s all about connecting the customer with the manufacturer to quickly get through any issue,” said H&B Regional Sales Manager Sean Tobler. “Very few finishing equipment manufacturers have the depth and know-how to offer services like this.”

Success Continues as More Chinese Printers Rely on ExcelCoat’s Throughput and Reliability
BEIJING, CHINA – Harris & Bruno International announces they will demonstrate an ExcelCoat ZR30 offline coater for UV and AQ coatings at China Print May 9–13.
On display will be ExcelCoat’s chamber/anilox metering system that excels at applying UV, AQ, primer, soft touch, matte, and other high-end particulate coatings. An optional Corona Treatment Unit helps primers and coatings adhere to synthetics, metals, and other substrates or inks traditionally difficult for adhesion. The ability to save 50 jobs delivers easy repeatability and minimal downtime.
“We have many fully loaded, automatic ExcelCoats installed into the region,” said Ya-Ping Zhou, H&B Greater China Operations Director. “These customers have been able to take on new AQ soft touch applications, increase production capacity, and reduce operational costs. ExcelCoats have also enabled these customers to pre-treat all digital stock and enhance digital printing quality.”
As one of HP’s preferred partners, the ExcelCoat offline coater will be on demonstration in HP’s pavilion, Booth E1-001.
